Redesign
Nursery website redesign
For settings whose site was built before report cards, before the April 2026 charging rules, or before Famly. We check the current site against both sets of rules in writing, free, before you decide anything.
A redesign rebuilds an existing nursery website: new pages written to the April 2026 charging rules and the Ofsted report card format, the enquiry form connected to your software, a page for each district you draw from, and every old web address redirected so parents’ bookmarks and your Google listings still work. Ours cost the same as a new build, from £1,495, and start with a free written check of the site you already have.
Signs it is time
The header shows a single-word Ofsted grade
Fine until your next inspection. After it, the logo must come down and the page around it will not make sense. Better to rebuild the section now than to patch it in a week you are also being inspected.
The fees page says "contact us for fees"
From April 2026 the DfE expects charges to be published clearly and extras to be shown as voluntary. A page that hides the numbers fails parents at 10pm and does not match the guidance.
Enquiries come by email and get lost
If you use Famly, Ovivio, eyworks or Nursery in a Box, their enquiry form should be the one on the site, so a lead is tracked from first click to first day.
The site was built on a nursery software vendor's builder
They are fast to set up and hard to leave. We rebuild as plain HTML you own, and redirect every old address so nothing is lost in search.
It does not mention the districts you draw from
Parents search "nursery [district]". One page per neighbourhood is the single biggest change most redesigns make.
Photos of children with no consent records
If nobody can find the signed forms, the images should come down until they can. We build the consent process into the redesign.
How a redesign runs
Same four steps as a new build, with two extra tasks up front.
The free written check
Send us the address. Within two working days you get a written note covering: what the fees page says against the April 2026 guidance, how the Ofsted section is built, whether photos have visible consent handling, how enquiries are captured, which pages are earning search visits, and what would carry over. No call unless you want one, no sales pitch, and you keep it whether or not you go ahead.
Redirects and continuity
Every old page address is mapped to its new home so parents' bookmarks and Google's index follow you. Your domain and email do not change. The old site stays live until the new one is checked, then we switch in an hour.

How a build runs, start to finish
Four steps. You see a fixed price and a page plan before anything is designed.
1. Tell us about your nursery
Four details in the form. Then a short brief: rooms, ages, fees, funded hours, any software you use, the towns you draw from.
2. You get your quote
A fixed price, a page plan and a live date, within one working day. No call, unless you want one.
3. Design and build
You see a design first. Two rounds of revisions. Then we build every page and connect your enquiry form to your software.
4. Live in 2 to 6 weeks
We handle domain and hosting. You get a written handover and a care plan from £50 a month.
Us, a website builder, or a generalist agency
Three honest routes to a nursery website. Which one is right depends on how much of it you want to do yourself.
| Template builder | Generalist web agency | Full Rooms Websites | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Typical cost | £15 to £40 a month, plus your evenings | £2,500 to £10,000 | £1,495 to £5,995 fixed, plus £50 a month care plan |
| Fees page to the April 2026 DfE rules | You write it | Only if you brief it | Built in, with the DfE chargeable extras template underneath |
| Ofsted report cards, from November 2025 | Not handled | Usually a single-word grade badge | Report card layout, QR badge to your report |
| Famly, Ovivio and eyworks enquiry forms | Manual embed | Quoted as an extra | Included, or a plain form into your inbox if you use no software |
| A page for each district you draw from | Rare | Charged per page | In every package above Starter |
| Who owns the files | The platform | Varies, ask before you sign | You, on completion, as plain HTML |
| Time to live | A weekend to a month of your evenings | 6 to 12 weeks is typical | 2 to 6 weeks |

What nursery owners say
Firefly Nursery
The team designed and developed our new website and continue to work with us on an ongoing basis through their SEO and AI Visibility package. They’re helping us strengthen our presence on Google and across emerging AI search platforms, so more local parents can discover our nursery online. It’s great having one team looking after both our website and our long-term digital visibility.
Oak Tree Nursery
We wanted a website that really captured the warmth and personality of our nursery and gave parents confidence in choosing us. The finished website does exactly that. It showcases our setting beautifully, explains what we offer clearly and makes it incredibly easy for prospective parents to arrange a visit or get in touch.
More enquiries from local parents
Our new website has made a huge difference to our online presence. Parents can quickly understand what makes our nursery special and easily take the next step to arrange a visit. We’ve had fantastic feedback on how professional, welcoming and easy to use the website is.
Questions nursery owners ask
Can you keep our existing content?
Anything worth keeping, yes. Room descriptions, staff bios and policies usually carry over with editing. Fees pages are almost always rewritten to the 2026 guidance.
Will we lose our Google ranking?
A redesign with proper redirects normally holds position and often improves it, because the new pages answer more directly. A redesign without redirects is where rankings are lost, and we do not do those.
How long does a redesign take?
The same as a new build: 2 to 5 weeks for Starter, 3 to 5 for Nursery, 4 to 6 for a group. Content review is usually the slow part, so the earlier you send the old site the faster it goes.
How much does a nursery website cost?
A nursery website in the UK costs between about £1,000 and £6,000 as a one-off build, plus £20 to £60 a month to keep it running. Ours are £1,495 for a single setting of up to eight pages, £2,995 for an established nursery and £5,995 for a group of two or more, with a £50 a month care plan on top. Monthly-only offers from £15 to £40 exist, but you usually rent the site rather than own it.
Will our website meet Ofsted and EYFS requirements?
Ofsted does not inspect or approve websites, so no website is "Ofsted compliant" and you should be careful of anyone selling that phrase. What a website can do is show your inspection outcome accurately. Since November 2025 inspections produce a colour-coded report card across evaluation areas instead of one overall word, so we build the section to display the areas and link to your published report.
What is a fair price to pay for a website?
For a small UK business, a freelance build is typically £800 to £3,000 and an agency build £2,500 to £10,000 (Duport, June 2026). A fair price is one quoted as a fixed figure in advance, with the page list written down, the revision rounds stated, and the files yours at the end. Anything quoted only after a phone call usually varies by who is asking.
Do we own the website at the end?
Yes. On completion and full payment the files are yours, as plain HTML with no proprietary platform to be locked into. Domains we register go in your name where the registrar allows it, and transfer to you free of charge whenever you ask, including if you stop the care plan.
Does it cost money to keep a website running?
Yes. A domain is roughly £10 to £20 a year, hosting £50 to £200 a year, and updates and security either your own time or a care plan. Ours is £50 a month and covers the domain, hosting, backups, security monitoring, one mailbox and one minor change a year. It is optional and you can leave with 30 days notice.
