How a nursery website gets built here

Four steps, all in writing, two to six weeks from brief to live. No meeting is required at any point.

How long does it take to build a nursery website?

Two to five weeks for a single setting, three to five for an established nursery and four to six for a group, counted from the day your brief is complete. Four steps: you send four details and a short brief, you get a fixed quote and a page plan within one working day, you approve a design with two rounds of revisions, then we build, connect the enquiry form and go live. The four steps

1. Tell us about your nursery

Four details in the form. Then a short brief: rooms, ages, fees, funded hours, any software you use, the towns you draw from.

2. You get your quote

A fixed price, a page plan and a live date, within one working day. No call, unless you want one.

3. Design and build

You see a design first. Two rounds of revisions. Then we build every page and connect your enquiry form to your software.

4. Live in 2 to 6 weeks

We handle domain and hosting. You get a written handover and a care plan from £50 a month.

What we need from you

At the start

Setting name, address and Ofsted URN. Rooms and age ranges. Opening hours and weeks. Fees, funded hours offer and any chargeable extras. Any software you use for enquiries, if you use one. Towns and districts you draw from. Anything you have: a logo, photos with consent, a competitor site you like.

During the build

One person who can approve things. Two rounds of written feedback on the design, then two on the pages. Log-ins for your domain, or permission for us to register one. Confirmation that every child's photo we use has a signed consent form.

What nursery owners say

Firefly Nursery

The team designed and developed our new website and continue to work with us on an ongoing basis through their SEO and AI Visibility package. They’re helping us strengthen our presence on Google and across emerging AI search platforms, so more local parents can discover our nursery online. It’s great having one team looking after both our website and our long-term digital visibility.

Oak Tree Nursery

We wanted a website that really captured the warmth and personality of our nursery and gave parents confidence in choosing us. The finished website does exactly that. It showcases our setting beautifully, explains what we offer clearly and makes it incredibly easy for prospective parents to arrange a visit or get in touch.

Questions nursery owners ask

Do we ever need to meet or call?

No. Everything from brief to sign-off works in writing. We offer a call at any point if you prefer one, and some clients take it, but the process does not depend on it.

What if we do not have photos?

We build with illustration and colour and leave photo slots ready. When you have images with signed parental consent, they drop in. We never use stock photos of children.

Can we keep our domain and email?

Yes. The domain stays in your name, or is registered as your agent and transferred free on request. Existing email is untouched; we leave the mail records alone when we point the domain at the new site.

How long does it take to build a nursery website?

Two to five weeks for a single setting, three to five for an established nursery, four to six for a group. The clock starts when your brief is complete. The slow part is almost always waiting for fees, room details and staff names, so the faster you send those the sooner it is live.

How much does a nursery website cost?

A nursery website in the UK costs between about £1,000 and £6,000 as a one-off build, plus £20 to £60 a month to keep it running. Ours are £1,495 for a single setting of up to eight pages, £2,995 for an established nursery and £5,995 for a group of two or more, with a £50 a month care plan on top. Monthly-only offers from £15 to £40 exist, but you usually rent the site rather than own it.

Do we have to write the content?

No. We draft every page from your brief and you edit it in writing. Fees pages use your numbers. We will not write a claim, an award or a review you cannot substantiate, and we will say so rather than quietly writing it anyway.

Do we own the website at the end?

Yes. On completion and full payment the files are yours, as plain HTML with no proprietary platform to be locked into. Domains we register go in your name where the registrar allows it, and transfer to you free of charge whenever you ask, including if you stop the care plan.

Does it cost money to keep a website running?

Yes. A domain is roughly £10 to £20 a year, hosting £50 to £200 a year, and updates and security either your own time or a care plan. Ours is £50 a month and covers the domain, hosting, backups, security monitoring, one mailbox and one minor change a year. It is optional and you can leave with 30 days notice.

Start with four details. Everything else follows in writing.
